In this article, let’s take a look at rumors surrounding the Poco F6 and what we know so far.

Poco F6 Rumors Roundup

Initially, we speculated that the Poco F6 could be a rebrand of the Redmi K70 phones. This was based on a leaked screenshot by @i_hsay on Twitter. As per the screenshot, the Poco F6 reportedly received BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification to sell a smartphone carrying the model number “2311DRK48I”. This was the same as the Redmi K70’s model number except the last letter was replaced with an ‘I’.

As it stands, this phone will more likely be a rebrand of the Redmi Note 13 Turbo instead.

Rumored specs

In the meantime, we were expecting the upcoming Poco phone to pack the last gen’s flagship chipset — the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. However, recent developments suggest otherwise. It appears that the Poco F6 will come with another Qualcomm silicone currently in works carrying the codename “SM8635”.

This chipset is said to be built on TSMC’s 4nm lithography while packing a Cortex-X4 prime core. Additionally, it clocks in at 2.9 GHz and scores over 1.7 million in AnTuTu. It will come coupled with an Adreno 735 GPU with a clock speed of around 900 MHz. Considering all this, the SM8635 will slot right between the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

While all this may be going around, there is a chance that Poco F6 will pack the “SM7675” i.e. Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3. This chipset might hold a slightly weaker GPU than the SM8635, other than that, both the chips are the same down to the teeth. No matter which chip the upcoming Poco phone packs it will undoubtedly provide a flagship level performance!

Poco F6: Launch and Availability

At first, sources speculated the Poco F6 to make its debut around November 2023 given the “2311” in its model number. However, we do not see the phone anywhere in the market even after months have gone by. Nonetheless, reports suggest the Poco F6 to drop somewhere around mid-2024. There aren’t any leads about the pricing either but we’ll keep you updated as things happen.

The successor to last year’s popular Poco F5 might be just around the corner according to recent leaks and speculations.
